Seiken no Blacksmith Review

   
            This is the kind of series unappreciated by the fans, but very appreciated by me. A series that, from my sight should have a more extended anime and a better known series.

Seiken no Blacksmith, The Sacred Blacksmith is Japanese novels series created by Isao Miura in 2007. It has sold over 780,000 copies of the 15 volumes of novels. Both, 7 volumes manga and 12 episodes anime appeared in 2009.  
 
Forty four years before the beginning of our history, Tha Valbanil War occurred, in which the “Demon Contracts” appear, where humans sacrificed their bodies to become into powerful demons. The war ended, the surviving nations make peace and forbid Demon Contracts.

 

               Cecily Cambell, red eyes and red hair, is a “Housman Knight”, one of the “Free Trade Cities”, cities that keep a democratic confederation, of neutral order, Cecily is the third Knight generation, her big dream is to protect the city making honor of his menswear heritage.

                 The animation shows that one day, Cecily faces a war veteran, exposing his little experience in battles. Luke Ainsworth, a mysterious blacksmith saves her with a “katana”, an odd kind of sword and of medieval fantasy.
    

                Cecily, impressed with the katana, asks Luke to work in one of those. This brings her a huge adventure, one that she never imagined. 

               In the manga and in the novels, Cecily is Smart and with strong personality, plus of her abilities with the sword, unlike the anime, where she can’t handle it well, progressing with the passing time. In anime, there’s a lot of humor about her big bubs.

 

Sadly, the 12 anime episodes failed to show the entire work, though we can see the quality of the work, showing medieval fantasy and mixing it up with Japan’s actual fashion, the “moe”. Also adding touches deep and dark elements of fantasy.
